Welcome to Kreupasanam – The Abode of Grace
Kreupasanam is a Marian retreat center founded on a mission of prayer, spiritual renewal, and compassionate outreach in Kerala, India. The journey began in 1989–1990 with a simple ministry of counseling led by Fr V.P Joseph, through which many people experienced God’s love, healing, and guidance.
As the number of faithful seeking spiritual support grew, the ministry expanded into one-day retreats. On November 27, 1991, a Bible Convention was organized at Arthunkal Church, bringing together nearly 5,000 participants. This marked the beginning of a vibrant evangelization movement that soon expanded into large regional conventions and retreats.
Inspired by prayer, reflection, and Scripture, the ministry adopted the name Kreupasanam, meaning “The Seat of Mercy.” The name draws inspiration from the biblical Ark of the Covenant described in the Book of Exodus (Exodus 25,40, And The Book of Numbers 4), symbolizing God’s presence, guidance, and covenant with His people. Just as the Israelites journeyed through the wilderness toward the Promised Land under God’s protection, Kreupasanam seeks to accompany individuals on their spiritual journey through faith, prayer, and trust in God’s mercy.
Over the years, Kreupasanam has grown into a renowned center for retreats, prayer gatherings, Bible conventions, and evangelization programs, touching the lives of countless people through the message of Christ’s love and mercy.
Kreupasanam was officially registered with the Government of Kerala (Reg. No. A 690/92) in India and received the blessings and ecclesiastical approval of the Diocese of Alappuzha under the leadership of Rt. Hon. Bishop Peter M. Chenapparambil (Decree No. B.115/ERE-13/98-832).
Today, Kreupasanam continues its mission of bringing people closer to God through prayer, faith formation, healing, and the proclamation of the Gospel.
